In this follow up to his live talk at the Haven on Monday February 11th, comic book author Jim Krueger adds some of his thoughts on mythology and how everyone's beliefs can be challenged.
As a freelance comic book writer, Jim has written stories for everything from X-Men to the Justice League. He was also one of the driving forces behind Marvel's Earth X series and has written several original comics.

This item adds a little bit extra to Eric Metaxas's appearance at The Haven on Monday night. He spoke about the life of British abolitionist William Wilberforce. His biography of Wilberforce's life, Amazing Grace, is the companion book to the new movie Amazing Grace that hits theaters on February 23rd, 2007.

Wilberforce is certainly one of Metaxas's personal heroes, and his life was an "amazing" example of faith and action.
Visit Eric Metaxas's site. Learn more about the book here. Or just buy it because it's awesome. Learn more about the movie here.

Visual artist Chevas Rolfe has his first high-profile art exhibition at the United Nations, opening on November 20th. I was lucky enough to meet him at his studio and ask him a few questions about art as a form of cross-cultural communication and art's place in the international politics of the UN.

Also check out the screening of Invisible Children, a documentary about the exploitation of children in the war in Northern Uganda on December 1st at 8:00pm at The 411 Space: 300 W43rd st., 4th floor. Suggested donation is $10. Proceeds go to Invisible Children, Inc.
And be sure to visit Chevas's website to learn more about his art.

I got a chance to sit down with actor and playwright Kevin Johnson and talk about the virtue of Mercy and his play Universal Signs, which makes its debut on October 19, 2006 as part of the Mercy Plays, a series of 7 original short plays that "play" on the theme of Mercy.
Come see the Mercy Plays: October 19, 20, 21 (8pm) and October 22 (3pm) Center Stage NY (48 W 21st St at 6th Ave, 4th floor)
Tickets are $15. All proceeds from the Mercy Plays go to the Mercy Ships, a volunteer fleet of hospital ships that provides free medical care and surgical services to developing nations.
